At Skyline Painting Co., we believe a great paint job is more than color on walls—it’s about quality, consistency, and caring for the people who make it happen. Founded by a husband-and-wife team with deep roots in service, we’re pulling back the curtain to share our journey: Today, we’re excited to share The Story of Skyline Painting Co. and Its Founders, how my wife and I started Skyline, the values that drive us, and why we do things the way we do. From humble beginnings rooted in frustration to nationwide ambitions fueled by innovation, this is our journey.

Roots in Service: Lessons from the Navy and Marines and Childcare
Before Skyline, I served as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, providing medical care to sailors and Marines, including as a Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Corpsman with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines Infantry. Those years taught me the power of structured processes, where clear systems saved lives. I learned to prioritize people—ensuring everyone had the tools and support to thrive—and built unbreakable bonds through camaraderie and clear communication. These principles became Skyline’s foundation.
My wife, Lyndsie, brought her own expertise to our vision. With a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, she ran a daycare, nurturing young children with patience, structure, and care. Her ability to create a supportive, organized environment for kids and families shaped our approach to building a company where every team member feels valued and empowered. Together, as Baptist Christians, we find joy in serving our church community, which reinforces our commitment to integrity, service, and treating others like family.
Frustrated by my previous job in the painting industry, I often vented to Lyndsie about its shortcomings—poor quality, inconsistent subcontracted work, and lack of accountability. Her encouragement was the spark: “Why not do it yourself?” Inspired, we launched Skyline Painting Co. to deliver exceptional quality with the same care and discipline we’d honed in our respective fields.
The Spark: Why We Started Skyline Painting Co.
The painting industry was broken—subcontracting led to inconsistent quality, delays, and excuses. General contractors and clients deserved better, but we couldn’t deliver answers when we weren’t in control. Lyndsie and I set out to change that. Skyline keeps everything in-house, controlling every brushstroke to meet our high standards. We invest in our team with competitive pay, clear processes, and a culture rooted in camaraderie, ensuring they’re equipped to succeed.
Our faith guides us to treat our team like family and giving them the tools to excel, just as Lyndsie cared for the children in her daycare and I supported my fellow Marines. This people-first approach drives trust and motivates our crew to deliver top-notch work, reflecting the values we live out in our church and community, Honor, Courage, Commitment, and Integrity.

“Take care of your people, and they’ll take care of the mission.”
Standing Out: Our Commitment to Quality and Innovation
What sets Skyline apart? For starters, Skyline Painting Co is Colorado’s ONLY Service Disabled Veteran Owned Painting Company. Also, It’s our relentless focus on processes that drive efficiency and excellence. We’ve implemented systems to prepare our crews thoroughly—who they’re working for, what to expect, and how to meet high standards. This has led to standout projects and happy clients.

Take Eagle Point, a 192-unit multifamily development in Aurora, Colorado, with Arco National Construction. We’ve been on-site since early April, and our in-house team has shone through consistency and routine. By establishing clear workflows, we’ve sped up processes while maintaining superior quality. A key innovation? Adjusting our final coating method: we apply final coats to less-visible and minimal traffic areas like ceilings, closets, and bathrooms early, saving the main spaces for later. This minimizes go-back time, keeps crew sizes steady, and often lets us beat timelines—without doubling manpower as others might.

Arco has loved it; it gives their client a preview of the finished look, building excitement and trust. We’ve also integrated Company Cam for real-time photo sharing and comments with the general contractor. This documents issues—like improper siding installation—quickly, supports change orders, and avoids blame games. On exteriors, it helped us flag problems early, strengthening our relationship with Arco through clear, friendly communication.
These successes have carried over to our other projects as well. At 10th Avenue Townhomes, currently under construction by Ascent Builders, we’re ahead of schedule thanks to the same methods. And we’re expanding: next month, Aspire on 10th (152 units) in Sarasota, Florida kicks off, followed by Gateway Fort Myers (256 units). We’re hiring locally, with veteran project manager Damir leading the charge. His 20 years of experience, combined with our processes, ensures smooth rollouts—even adapting to Florida’s climate by starting interiors in cooler months.

Tools for the Future: Paintbrush and Nationwide Growth
To fuel our growth, we’ve developed Paintbrush (Project Analysis and INformation Transfer, Budget and Resource Utilization Strategy Hub), our custom built full stack all-in-one software. Born from the lack of painting-specific tools, Paintbrush streamlines everything: CRM, project estimation building, client management, proposals, crew info sharing, cost budgeting, resource planning and more. It automates substrate identification, product selection, costs, and coverage rates, slashing estimating time and eliminating guesswork. For Eagle Point, it pinpointed our exact material and sundry needs per unit and allowed us to strategize our manpower and equipment requirements across all 192 units.

Paintbrush embodies our efficiency drive, with plans to add AI for tracking individuals and crew performance. It’s key to our big dream: Nationwide Expansion under the umbrella of Skyline Painting America Corporation. We’re in Englewood, Colorado, Sarasota and Jacksonville Florida, and Grand Island, Nebraska now, with Phoenix, Arizona (where we’ve recently passed the licensing exam) and Starbase, Texas next. Using a Chain Business model, we’ll scale locations to between $3-10+ million in annual revenue each depending on what the market permits, and hiring local management and skilled painters once established. By targeting markets with minimal regulations, we aim to dominate with our proven processes and lean overhead.

Building a Legacy Together
Lyndsie and I started Skyline to fix a broken industry, but it’s become a mission to create a company where people matter, processes empower, and quality endures. Our faith and service—whether in the Navy, childcare, or our church—drive us to serve clients and teams with integrity. As we expand, we want Skyline to be synonymous with reliability, innovation, and care. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
